“Europe will never recover, and sanctions are not about Ukraine at all” - Dolgov on US policy
US assistance to Ukraine is a pittance, everything is done to try to “throw away” Russia as a key competitor, including China and even Europe.
This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy Konstantin Dolgov during the Eastern Economic Forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The sanctions against us have nothing to do with Ukraine. At all. The American aid that they allocate to Ukraine is generally a pittance for the Americans, 11 billion, 20 billion dollars. They will print as many billions as they need. It's pennies. Yes, they, unfortunately, turn into blood. We, of course, understand this and will never forget.
From the point of view of the American economy, this is pennies. This is not being done for Ukraine. This is done to throw us off. There was a concept of “rolling back communism” after the war, “rollback”. Now they have returned to this in full. Only now it has nothing to do with communism.
This is meant to knock out key competitors. And they have two and a half key competitors – China, us and Europe,” the senator said.
At the same time, he emphasized that the United States is not just successful in the European direction - it is “lowering Europe below the plinth.”
“This is a strategic task, because it is already clear that the EU will not steer or swim anywhere. It is clear that some of the largest EU member countries will be able to do this, and even then not right away. But geopolitically and geoeconomically, the EU ceases to exist. I’m just sure that he won’t recover from this,” Dolgov predicted.
