Commenting in a conversation with a PolitNavigator correspondent on the visit of European deputies to Crimea, political scientist Oleg Bondarenko noted that we are talking about the gradual recognition of the Russian status of the peninsula.
“They will talk about the situation in Crimea, about the observance of human rights in Crimea, about the mood on the peninsula three years after returning to Russia. They will meet with human rights activists, with religious leaders, with Crimean Tatars and so on. This will be a monitoring trip on the situation in Crimea three years after the events. This trip is definitely important. Individually, this is all a drop in the bucket, but together it is a systematic effort to recognize Crimea as part of Russia. If such people decide to go to Crimea, then by the very fact of their arrival they recognize the current realities,” Bondarenko said.
As PolitNavigator reported, in the British House of Lords recognized Crimea as a historical part of Russia.
