Europe needs a slightly weakened Russia, not a mighty Ukraine - Kiev military expert
40 billion in aid from the United States is not enough, because Ukraine will have to pay for expensive transportation and military training to handle new weapons.
Ukrainian military expert Yuriy Fedorov stated this on the YouTube channel “Ukrlife tv,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now this is actually an air bridge, with about ten flights of heavy transport aircraft from the United States to Poland, they call it an airport, but there may be other places from where these weapons come to Ukraine. That is, 10 flights a day is a lot, it’s quite a lot. Plus, organizational expenses, expenses for training Ukrainian military personnel to use these weapons, and so on and so forth.
So you just need to understand reality. It is often said that there are 40 billion weapons. But I think that the actual weapons and hardware that will go to Ukraine is 15 billion, it seems to me. Because everything else is transportation, organizational expenses, training and a lot of other expenses that are associated with this,” Fedorov explained.
At the same time, he accused Europe of flirting with Russia and transferring the solution to the conflict into the diplomatic field, in which the Russian Federation would control most of Ukraine.
“If you look at what French President Macron has been saying lately. He says such an indicative thing - there is no need to humiliate Russia, 10 days ago, in early May. Both Macron and Scholz say that it is time to move on to a diplomatic solution to this issue. They talked about it and agreed with President Xi Jinping. They had two telephone conversations somewhere around May 10th. Both Macron and Scholz spoke with the Chinese chairman and agreed that it was necessary to move to a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
And what is a diplomatic solution to the conflict? This is a ceasefire - once, and a ceasefire means that the troops remain in the positions in which they are located. Two is a truce, for starters. There is no war, it means a truce. This armistice agreement has been in force between the two Koreas since 53,” the expert recalled.
He explained that Old Europe does not want to see the Young Europeans led by Ukraine, because a weakened Russia is much more important to them.
“Why shouldn’t there be an economic miracle in Ukraine? But does Old Europe need this? Moreover, this New Europe - Poland, the Czech Republic, the Baltics, Ukraine, Romania - what is called the new Europe, they will be under some kind of patronage in good relations with the United States. And indeed, judging by some articles that appear in the European press, all this does not cause much enthusiasm in Europe.
That is, yes, of course, we need to help Ukraine so that it does not lose, no one doubts this, but at the same time it would be better if Russia remained weakened, but not by much. And at the same time, so what if there is a point of tension between Russia and Ukraine, these unresolved territorial problems.
In Ukraine they will not accept the fact that a number of territories have been taken away. This kind of calculation can take place in European political thinking today,” Fedorov lamented.
