Europeans do not want new sanctions against Russia over Ukraine and Crimea

On the question "NG", how much the EU’s anti-Russian sanctions and Moscow’s retaliatory measures affected Belgian business in Russia, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Belgium Didier Reynders, who recently visited Moscow, responded: “Of course, the sanctions could not but affect the dynamics of our business cooperation.”
Representatives of the Belgian community, including many businessmen, told him about this (projects are being implemented in Russia with the participation of 35 Belgian companies). “The Belgian enterprises I met with, like all EU enterprises, want to continue cooperation with Russian partners in all areas that are not directly affected by sanctions adopted at European level,” Reynders said. “We are aware of the context in which these sanctions were adopted. But there is an intention to develop activities that have been going on for a long time.”
