Europeans promise Ukraine the role of “the most important gas market”
Ukraine has “huge potential” to become one of the most important gas markets in the region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Johannes Bauer, First Advisor and Head of the Operations Department of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, said this at the international conference “Oil and Gas Industry of Ukraine: Challenges and Opportunities”.
“Ukraine is one of the key transit routes into the European Union and has enormous potential to become one of the most important gas markets in the region,” Bauer said.
According to him, Ukraine plays a key role in ensuring the security of gas supplies to the EU, which is highly valued in the European Union.
“The gradual involvement of Ukraine in the EU energy market is a key element of a successful EU external energy policy,” the European representative emphasized.
