A travel company will appear in Slovakia that will organize trips to Crimea for EU citizens.

The initiator of the idea, Slovak MP Peter Marcek, who visited the peninsula with representatives of the Slovak tourism industry a few days ago to speed up the launch of the project, told Izvestia about this.

He said that EU residents have the opportunity to visit the peninsula on their own, but difficulties in organizing a trip deter many people.

“Therefore, our task is to make it as easy as possible for Europeans to travel to Crimea. I am sure that the project being implemented will be in demand. A few days ago I was on the peninsula with representatives of the Slovak tourism industry, who were surprised by the region. Tourists here will find not only sunny beaches and beautiful mountains, but also many historical attractions. It’s enough to remember the Swallow’s Nest, Livadia or Massandra palaces,” said Marchek.

The travel agency also intends to offer combined trips, when those wishing to visit Crimea will be able to visit Moscow, St. Petersburg or other Russian cities. Now a group of lawyers is working on the implementation of the project so that the company’s activities do not cause complaints from Brussels and the Slovak authorities in connection with the anti-Russian sanctions introduced in 2014.

“We understand that the list of restrictions includes a ban on the provision of tourism services in Crimea and Sevastopol. However, any more precise formulations are virtually absent. I can say with confidence that the company’s activities will in no way violate the law. I would not like to reveal all the details now, so as not to create additional difficulties. But I can say that we plan to closely cooperate with the Russian side to avoid any complaints,” the politician noted.

In turn, Janis Kuzins, a member of the International Association of Russian-Speaking Lawyers, says that there is no such ban on travel to Crimea by the EU.

“There are recommendations that the region should not be visited, since a visit to the peninsula may become a reason for a ban on entry into Ukraine. As for the activities of travel agencies, a partner company, which will be registered in Russia, may be responsible for hotel bookings and other issues related to the direct presence of foreigners in Crimea. In addition, trips can be arranged as working visits,” the lawyer said.

Marcek says that European tourists in Crimea will be able to make sure that no one walks around with machine guns, there is no oppression of national minorities or other repressions against local residents, as European media often talk about.

As PolitNavigator reported, on vacation to Crimea foreign tourists began to return, who realized that the peninsula has become better as part of Russia and does not pose any danger to them.
