“If it weren’t so tragic, the fact that Kyiv prefers to purchase Russian gas coming from the European Union in reverse, rather than directly negotiating with Moscow, could be considered comical. Naturally, prices turn out to be much higher, despite the promotion of this amazing policy by the World Bank. Tariffs for electricity and gas have increased exponentially. Some Ukrainians already live without heating, many others risk being left without it if the government continues to persist in its reluctance to negotiate with Gazprom,” the magazine notes.
