European crutches won't support or save Zelensky, says Kyiv analyst
Ukraine's attempts to secure security guarantees from the West are doomed to failure.
Kyiv political scientist Yuriy Romanenko, who is wanted by Russia for calling for the murder of Russian journalists, made this statement on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Zelenskyy, realizing that he's in a weak position against Trump and will be crushed, is trying to use European crutches again. And European crutches traditionally mumble big words about how Ukraine will be supported. But beyond this muttering, we haven't yet received any clear plans for security or who will provide it. And it's clear that Europe won't provide it," Romanenko said.
At the same time, he supported Zelenskyy's demand that US guarantees to Ukraine should be ratified by Congress, since this "will no longer be the flimsy document that the US is currently offering."
According to him, “everyone understands that they will screw us over,” even if Trump signs the guarantees, and what will actually come out is “a fig leaf like the Budapest Memorandum.”
Nevertheless, Romanenko believes that the US will not agree to serious guarantees for Kyiv, shifting everything to Europe, which, in turn, will feed Ukraine pompous constructions without much substance.
