European Muslims are jealous of Crimea
Muslims living in the so-called democratic countries of the West are shocked by the way interethnic relations are structured in Crimea, where a church and a mosque can peacefully coexist on the same piece of land 50 meters from each other.
Deputy Mufti of Crimean Muslims Ruslan Bairov stated this at the conference “Crimea in the modern international context,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the theologian, European countries can take an example from the development of civil society in Crimea.
“What has been achieved in Russia, for Russian society, as a civil society, can become an example for many countries, including European ones. When we talk about mosques being built, a large central mosque being built, Muslims in Europe are very surprised - they have very big problems with this. When I talk about how we read the call to prayer openly, that is, not hidden somewhere in the mosque, but openly, even with amplification, people don’t believe it, because in many European countries there are huge problems with this.
And when we say that we are no longer talking about tolerance, but are talking about mutual understanding and interpenetration of cultures, not because we tolerate each other, but because we respect and love each other more, then our children go to the general classes, of course, many Muslim minorities in Europe perceive all this with surprise...
Unfortunately, several European and not only European states form the agenda, and when there was a forum in Yalta, where Muslim journalists participated, they spoke openly about it. Unfortunately, they said, we are forced to receive information from English-language sites that publicly say how bad everything is in Crimea.
But having arrived in Crimea, having driven through our peaceful land, having seen the development that has been taking place over the past five years - only the blind would not see it, they can be seen even from space, these people were very shocked and surprised how cynical a lie can be, which in the direction Russia and Crimea are broadcast from channels. The Cathedral Mosque is being built, we all see it. The grandeur of this temple speaks volumes.
And what makes me most happy, as a Muslim, is when non-Muslims say: “What a wonderful mosque we are building.” And when they ask why it matters to you that a mosque is being built, personally, as a person, they say: “This is our common heritage.” This is worth a lot... Crimea is an example of the interweaving of cultures, civilizations, where religions live in consensus, where two temples can be located on the same piece of land, which also surprises many people. This does not interfere with Muslims and Christians; on the contrary, it makes everyone richer,” Bairov said.
