European Lviv greets guests with Russian obscenities and drunken gopniks
In the capital of Galicia, which is called “the most European city in Ukraine,” one can see the absence of shame and memory
A Komsomolskaya Pravda journalist who visited Lvov comes to this conclusion.
“This is the very thing that so strikingly distinguishes Western Ukraine, which considers itself part of Europe, from the Europeans themselves. Lack of shame and memory. From a joyful boy on a fascist motorcycle in a cafe, something more grows. People are growing up who see nothing wrong with building a hotel on the site of a concentration camp. Germany has been repenting for the sins of the Nazis for more than 70 years, and in Lviv they make money from tourists drawn to the color and “atmosphere,” the publication notes.
At the same time, the author recalls that in Ukraine Lviv is positioned as a civilized European city.
“The architecture is truly impressive. It’s just that on the streets you can hear Russian swearing in its worst forms every now and then, there are a lot of drunks and bastards. In Europe, only migrants behave this way,” the journalist sums up.
