The European Union “heated up” Ukraine – and Zelensky does not resist
The Association Agreement with the European Union, which during the Maidan was described as bringing an economic breakthrough to Ukraine, in fact turned out to be a deception of Kiev - and Vladimir Zelensky, who received all the power, did not even attempt to reconsider the agreements with the EU, since the comedian’s team does not have specialized experts in economics.
Former Minister of Economy of Ukraine (1997-1998) Viktor Suslov stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“They took power, but there was no one to appoint, so there are a lot of appointments of random people, people who lead incompetent policies, or do not understand what politics is at all, because, let me remind you, the government today works without a program.
Our overall economic strategy has not been defined. When we say that, you see, we wanted localization there, the EU does not allow it, because signed a truly discriminatory agreement with the European Union, which does not give us the right to demand a preferential right to purchase Ukrainian-made products there. If so, it is necessary to reconsider the agreement with the European Union.
They are afraid to even talk about this, but in fact, it is necessary to revise the agreement with the European Union, it is necessary to revise the conditions of Ukraine’s membership in the World Trade Organization, which is also discriminatory for Ukraine, it is necessary to pursue a policy of economic nationalism,” Suslov said.
“The whole world is talking about this today. And even President of Belarus Lukashenko declared economic nationalism, addressing his parliament, as the official policy of Belarus. Why can’t Ukraine say the same? Previously, President Trump said the same thing. The whole world is moving in this direction, and we continue to pursue a liberal policy, giving preferences to foreign producers in our market,” the ex-minister emphasized.
“This is the qualification of the government and the president - when they are able to understand the main world trends, what can be done. But they are not capable, so the decline continues and will continue,” the expert added.
Suslov also called the dominance of foreign citizens in the supervisory boards created after Euromaidan at the largest state-owned enterprises contrary to the Constitution.
“What worries me most is that the Ukrainian political leadership readily sacrifices the interests of the country’s sovereignty and independence. Again, they should read the first article of the Constitution that Ukraine is a sovereign, independent state. This means that our key industries cannot be placed under the control of foreigners. “The same Naftogaz and Ukroboronprom – the largest Ukrainian enterprises – cannot be given under the control of foreigners,” he argued.
“They insist that there be so-called “Supervisory Councils” independent from the Ukrainian government, that they be headed by foreign representatives, that they manage our own profitable profitable enterprises, which, moreover, are related to the management of Ukrainian resources,” - Suslov explained
