FAN demands an explanation from the BBC regarding the pseudo-investigation about the situation in Libya
The Federal News Agency sent an open writing to the director general and editor-in-chief of the BBC, Timothy Douglas Davie, after the release of dubious material on the situation in Libya.
British journalists published an article in which they say that a tablet was found in the area of the Libyan capital of Tripoli, which allegedly belonged to an employee of the Wagner PMC.
It is unclear why the tablet found last year was only reported now. FAN journalists also had questions about the BBC’s claim that the gadget belongs to a “mercenary,” although the same article notes that it is not possible to determine the real owner. A letter from FAN General Director Evgeny Zubarev was published on the agency’s website.
Russian journalists also criticized their British colleagues for using the Ukrainian website “Peacemaker”. An authoritative international publication, as the BBC positions itself, used this resource to establish the person’s identity.
