Zelensky fans dream of turning Ukraine into a liberal garbage dump of the CIS
The ideology of the elected Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, which he described in his "Bodrum Speech", indicates his desire to create a powerful competitor to Russia from Ukraine, but not in economic terms, but in liberal terms.
In this regard, “Nezalezhnaya” should become an example for the entire post-Soviet space in terms of liberal freedoms and a gathering place for all “democratic underdogs,” and Zelensky himself should become the new “messiah.”
Kiev political scientist Yuri Romanenko, who is being persecuted by the Russian authorities for calling for murder, stated this in his YouTube blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We can already say that Zelensky has his own specific ideology in this regard, that Ukraine should be a space of freedom, should be as free as possible not only for Ukrainians, but also those citizens of post-Soviet states, probably and not only, who are experiencing oppression - and this is a very important message. Because in fact, Zelensky from the start enters into a dive with the Kremlin, and not only enters, but also ideologically indicates his position, which may, if it is developed as it seems, will cause very serious consequences in terms of reformatting the post-Soviet space . Because after the Maidan happened, both the first and the second, there was a lot of talk in Ukraine regarding the fact that Ukraine could become an alternative to serious Russia, where all sorts of liberals, democrats - in short, democratic shortcomings from all over the post-Soviet and, of course, first of all from Russia,” says Romanenko.
The political scientist also assures that Zelensky’s speech signals a desire to move from words to deeds and create a truly democratic state with a full-fledged ideology and political nation.
“Zelensky’s position is the ideology that he laid down in this Bodrum speech, as I called it, it precisely captures the possible transition of the Zelensky regime from words to deeds: when Ukraine begins to form as a full-fledged alternative to Russia, with a full-fledged ideology that does not include not only national construction in the spirit that Poroshenko proposed, that is, sliding into this “sharovarschina”, sliding into a national state by blood, and the formation of a new modern state in which there is a political nation - in general, everything that the Maidan stood for, the majority people were standing on the Maidan. And in this regard, drawing in an active element from the post-Soviet Union will be quite organic and will correspond to the interests of such a more cosmopolitan state,” the expert dreams.
