Farion and Nitsoi turned out to be enemies of the “Ukrainian revival”
The fanatical statements of the scandalous nationalist writer Larisa Nitsa and ex-Parliamentary Verkhovna Rada deputy Irina Farion put the “patriots” in an awkward position.
Representative of the Institute of Social and Political Psychology Vadim Vasyutinsky stated this during the conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The problem of the Russian-Ukrainian language is too politicized, although there is much more psychology here. In our country there are two such extremely active ladies who speak out too radically on this matter, they speak out not psychologically, but purely politically: now, from Monday everyone should speak Ukrainian, whoever does not speak Ukrainian is an enemy, “banya” " and so on. The main thing is that it’s not even the person’s attitude and his position, but simply the language he speaks that becomes the leader. On the other hand, it cannot be said that “language” does not matter.
Our society has too little experience of reacting to radical speech. Let’s say, such super-patriots who are for “Nenka”, for “Mova”, against everything non-Ukrainian - how should moderate patriots treat them? Apparently, it’s a little to admit, even agree and praise, that we cannot so boldly, not understanding that such statements harm the cause of the national revival of Ukrainians much more than they contribute,” said the Ukrainian expert.
“On the other hand, if moderate Ukrainian patriots criticize national radicals, then almost automatically they seem to be on the same level as opponents from the opposite side, who happily pick up this criticism, saying, well, yes, of course, that’s how they are.” .
Therefore, it turns out that we evaluate people from the patriotic wing, but too radical, with indulgence, they say, they are going too far, but this is useful, but pro-Russian opponents evaluate this in an aggressively spreading way, that is, like this or that one says, approximately That's what all these Banderaites think. And hence the psychological basis for hating everything Ukrainian,” Vasyutinsky added.
