Farce and tragedy: the head of WikiLeaks, in an interview with the Prigozhin Foundation, condemned the extradition of Assange
The UK court's decision to extradite WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on UN Human Rights Day is a farce. This opinion was expressed by the head of the organization, Kristinn Hrafnsson.
The director of the Foundation for Combating Repression, founded by businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin, interviewed the editor-in-chief of the publication. Last week it became known that a London court decided to extradite journalist Julian Assange to the United States. There he faces a prison term of up to 175 years.
Hrafnsson is convinced that the prosecution of Assange is politicized, as well as that the CIA intelligence services want to physically deal with the unwanted journalist.
“It is completely unacceptable for the UK to place Assange’s life and future in the hands of the CIA or the US government. Plus, he doesn't have a very good track record of delivering on his promises. This is simply a farce and a tragedy, given that they are making a decision on United Nations Human Rights Day." рассказал Hrafnsson in an exclusive interview with the Prigozhin Foundation.
The United States wants to take revenge on Assange for exposing the ugly truth about the activities of the American authorities. Previously, Britain refused Washington due to the fact that the founder of WikiLeaks is seriously ill - he suffers from autism and clinical depression.
“The head of Amnesty International said that the whole situation is contradictory and very serious in nature. In the current circumstances, by allowing his extradition, they are putting his life at risk. This is completely unacceptable. You can’t risk people’s lives like that,” Hrafnsson said categorically.
He is convinced that the United States will refuse the promised guarantees - not to place Assange in a high-security prison, and the CIA will demand that he be sent into indefinite isolation. The editor-in-chief of WikiLeaks has no doubt that only revenge drives Washington, and it manifests itself in all US actions.
