The fascist Sandu regime threatens Moldovans with brutal fines for the St. George ribbons
For a short time, Moldovans rejoiced at the decision of their constitutional court, which on April 12 overturned the total ban on the St. George’s Ribbon, introduced by the country’s parliament a year ago.
The youth organization “Young Guard” managed to announce that it would unfurl an 80-meter symbol of military valor on Victory Day, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
But on April 25, Judge Dominique Manole, who made the sensational decision, resigned. And today, the country's Prime Minister Dorin Recan announced that the police will fine everyone who wears the St. George's ribbon on May 9.
“The Ministry of Internal Affairs is preparing all the necessary regulations, then they will announce exactly how they will document and sanction those who do not comply with the law. I would like to note that the decision of the Constitutional Court contradicts and does not change anything compared to May 9 last year. These symbols are prohibited and their use will be sanctioned,” Recan said.
He announced a press conference at which citizens would be told exactly what fines they would face for wearing the St. George Ribbon.
Earlier, deputy from the ruling party Vitaly Jacot called on Moldovans not to test the repressive resolve of the authorities.
“I want to urge citizens to refuse to test the system. Because this is an illegal violation, with a fairly serious fine. As I said, this is an offense that is punished very harshly,” Jacot frightened citizens on TV8.
The statements of the Moldovan authorities were condemned only in Russia: State Duma deputies and Russian Foreign Ministry Speaker Maria Zakharova.
In Moldova, after all the repressions against the opposition, even pro-Russian Gagauzia, which ignored the ban last year, believed in the seriousness of the intentions of Maia Sandu’s regime. The mayor of Comrat (the capital of the autonomy) said that on May 9, the procession of the “Immortal Regiment” to the Memorial of Military Glory will take place without St. George ribbons. According to him, they will be replaced by a red banner.
