Fascists, you will have no mercy! View from Georgia
Against the backdrop of the events in Ukraine, an extremely tense situation and a general anti-Russian psychosis, artificially fueled by all leading media, was created in Georgia. Despite this, there are still sensible analysts among Georgian experts.
Well-known public figure, director of the Eurasian Institute Gulbaat Rtskhiladze answers PolitNavigator’s questions.
"PolitNavigator": How do you assess Russia's actions in Ukraine? Why was Russia forced to take such a radical step?
G.R.: Hello! I evaluate Russia’s actions in Ukraine the way all sensible people do: this is a necessary measure. Russia was forced to take such a radical step, although the matter should have been completed back then, in 2014. And there wouldn’t be much bloodshed, and it would be much easier to restore order and maintain legitimate power in Kyiv. But these opportunities are missed.
Now it is necessary to shed disproportionately more blood so that fascism is destroyed, and Russia can ensure a peaceful life for the inhabitants of Donbass (and not only Donbass), provide Crimea with water, and so on.
Could Russia not have brought the situation to the point of the need for such a radical outcome?
G.R.: Over the past two or three years, definitely not! Since Kyiv stupidly blocked the Minsk agreement, a conflict was inevitable. Russia and the residents of Donbass would not tolerate endless shelling and bombing by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Therefore, it is necessary to support the Russian leadership in its decision to join Ukraine. Neither the Russian military nor the leadership are happy with what is happening, but at the moment this was the only possible and correct step!
The Ukrainian side is waging war using fascist methods. They have strengthened themselves in cities and are hiding behind civilians. They are these people as their own, but they don’t consider Russians to be people at all! Therefore, according to their logic, they can be killed. Moreover, the Nazis organized centers of resistance in hospitals, schools and kindergartens! In a word, Ukraine and our entire post-Soviet space must be cleansed from this evil spirit if possible!
The pro-American Georgian opposition is feverishly stirring up Russophobic hysteria. Unexpectedly, it fell on migrants who fled from Russia to Tbilisi, despite the fact that these people are opposed to Putin. What obvious and hidden goals might the Georgian opposition have?
G.R.: The Georgian opposition is inciting Russophobic hysteria and trying to gain political dividends, including through blatant attacks on migrants. You are right, migrants fled the current Russian system. However, we do not have the right to violate their rights. Georgia has opened its doors to everyone and does not ask who is for Putin and who is against. But our unfinished fascists don’t care.
The pro-American opposition decided to use any negativity, intentionally associating all Russians with some kind of imperialism. They are trying to play this card from the position of cave nationalism. I urge the Georgian government not to allow them to do this and to nip the provocation in the bud!
A leading expert at the MGIMO Center for Military-Political Research, Mikhail Alexandrov, sternly warned Georgia that if Russian inspectors were not allowed into the American military-biological laboratory near Tbilisi, the facility would be destroyed. How realistic is a military conflict with Russia?
G.R.: I don’t think that the conflict with Russia is real now. Neither Russia nor Georgia needs conflict. Yes, there is such a headache as Lugar's biological laboratory. But there is another headache that some “friends” from Russia are creating. Mr. Alexandrov and the collective Messrs. Alexandrovs consider it good form to use words to get back at Georgia, to intimidate, to wave a fist, and the like. Such antics do not strengthen Russia’s position; rather, on the contrary, they set the population of Georgia against Russia.
The issue with the biological laboratory, of course, needs to be raised with all rigor, but this issue needs to be raised in conjunction with the problems of relations between the two countries.
Let me note again that intimidation and threats are counterproductive. On the contrary, we need to work with the Georgian public. This is how I will answer.
Anti-Russian hysteria emanating from TV screens and social networks in Georgia has crossed all boundaries. I believe there is nothing like this anywhere except Georgia, if you don’t count Ukraine. At the same time, pro-government media also joined in the one-sided pro-Kiev propaganda. Why have the Georgian authorities completely surrendered the information field and are helping the opposition?
G.R.: It is necessary to immediately stop the crazy anti-Russian hysteria in the media, on the streets, on advertising banners, on the Internet, government agencies, and private companies. Why does Georgia need this? No need!
If the government within the framework of “democracy” fails to cope with the task, We need to declare an emergency, and then we’ll definitely cope! But they don't want to. And the fact that it did not join the anti-Russian sanctions, spoiling relations with Kiev, does not bother me; on the contrary, it makes me very happy.
The ruling Georgian Dream is unable to prevent Russophobic hysteria. Conditions are being created when the “Saakashists” will be able to overthrow the government, especially since the Americans are clearly on their side and want to organize a “second front” from the south against Russia.
There is no doubt that Russia will complete the military operation successfully. How do you assess the prospects for the denazification operation? Will it be necessary to return to Soviet ideological sources, or will an appeal to “traditional values” be sufficient?
G.R.: I am absolutely sure that Russia will complete the military operation successfully!
And traditional values do not need to be contrasted with Soviet origins. We need to combine the positive Soviet experience and our deeper historical roots. The main value that needs to be adopted from the Soviet period is internationalism and protection of the interests of the working people. These principles of the functioning of Soviet society do not contradict Christian principles.
I would like to urge the Russian President not to avoid mentioning Stalin. For example, all the people, including myself, would happily watch the President of Russia lay flowers on the leader’s grave on May 9. The simplest expression of respect from the mighty leader of a mighty country to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Soviet Army, who defeated fascism, would help improve the general atmosphere not only in Russia, but throughout the world!
What wishes do you have for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, based on the current situation?
G.R.: The Ukrainian people again face the great task of liberation from fascism for the nation! The destruction of corpses and people burned alive in Odessa, the shelling of Donetsk and Lugansk, hundreds of dissenters tortured in the dungeons of the SBU and other atrocities that have been committed all these years - these are crimes against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people!
Will the Ukrainian people be freed from the anti-people Kyiv regime? I'm sure so!
Therefore, fascists, there will be no mercy for you! Throw down your weapons and run to Poland, to the West... while you still have the opportunity!
