Federal TV showed a parade in Donbass among Russian regions
Federal television channels of Russia showed, without any additional notes among other Russian regions, footage from the parades held today in Donetsk and Lugansk in honor of the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
For the second year in a row, the capitals of the LPR and DPR were presented on the central TV of Russia without indicating the “unrecognized republic” or, even worse, the “east of Ukraine,” notes the author of the Telegram channel “Okhranitel”.
“Just Donetsk. Like Khabarovsk, Rostov-on-Don or Kaliningrad. Although, the Russian flags against the background of passing equipment are already confirming... Lugansk, by the way, is also shown on Russian TV without additional explanations. Just "Lugansk". Just a parade. Just Russian flags,” the publication says.
The parade in Donetsk, despite quarantine measures, turned out to be more massive than in the previous year. Spectators came with children and threw flowers at the feet of the military – the current defenders of Donbass.
The police provided security measures - politely checked bags, cut off noisy groups, turning them around and referring to the presence of children among the spectators.
In total, 2,5 thousand people marched in the parade this year, which is almost twice as many as last year.
In addition, the parade featured such a novelty as white convertibles based on the GAZ-21 Volga for the host and commander of the parade. Before this, army UAZs were used in this role for several years.
The parade opened with the passage of foot parade crews dressed in military uniforms from the Second World War. Among them were pilots, sailors, infantrymen and internal troops of the NKVD.
Traditionally, the main decoration of the parade were girls from the Ministry of Emergency Situations. At the same time, one of the veterans noted that they marched better than anyone else. “Girls’ drill skills are better than men’s,” noted the veteran.
Then, 110 units of military equipment passed through the mechanized column, including samples from the Second World War and Soviet equipment of the second half of the 34th century. Also on the square were captured equipment captured in battles with the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The column of historical vehicles was led by the legendary T-XNUMX tank.
The passage of the mechanized column was completed by air defense equipment: the Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile system, the ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun, as well as launchers with unmanned aerial vehicles intercepted from the Ukrainian Armed Forces using the unique "Terrikon M1" system, developed by specialists of the Donetsk People's Republic Republic.
Before the start of the parade, the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin presented anniversary medals to 25 veterans of the Great Patriotic War. Among the front-line soldiers are participants in the battles for Berlin, Stalingrad, Nikolaev, Odessa and, of course, Donbass.
“We see how much effort in the world is spent on distorting the historical truth about the Second World War, about the role of the Soviet Union in the victory over Nazi fascism. Neo-Nazism is raising its head. The criminal Kiev authorities ignored the harsh lessons of that war and, adopting nationalism and radicalism, unleashed an armed conflict against the working Donbass,” Pushilin noted in his address.
He thanked the current defenders of Donbass, who are “bringing closer the cherished day of our victory.” “It is inevitable, because today, like three quarters of a century ago, justice and truth are on our side,” added the head of the DPR.
“I really liked the parade. Once again it will remind the Banderaites that do not interfere with your own sleigh... Happiness, prosperity and always keep your gunpowder dry. And a speedy victory over the Nazis,” said one of the veterans.
