Ukraine arrested a Russian ship for operating off the coast of Crimea

The fake “Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea” opened proceedings on the fact of illegal, according to Ukraine, sand mining and mineral development in the Karkinitsky Bay area of ​​the Black Sea, which is located off the coast of the Crimean peninsula, which “causes harm to the environment for hundreds of millions of hryvnia.”

“The Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, together with the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, recorded the illegal activities of a company registered in the Russian Federation. On April 10.04.2018, XNUMX, by order of the investigating judge, the petition to seize the ship was granted,” the statement says.

Press secretary of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Tatyana Tikhchik told TASS that the ship is now in a port in the Odessa region.

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko on his page on the social network clarified that “illegal” sand mining in the Karkinitsky Bay area of ​​the Black Sea is carried out in the Swan Islands nature reserve), and the extraction itself is carried out by a dredger vessel with a home port in Tuapse. The vessel belongs to the Trans Services Maritime campaign.

“In the traditions of the Russian Federation, stolen sand is used for the illegal construction of an occupying bridge in the Kerch region. At the same time, the embezzler campaign conducts its business without any problems of conscience, in particular with other ships that regularly enter the territory of Ukraine,” Lutsenko is indignant.
