A fake letter from the German ambassador to Poroshenko made the Ukrainian issue the topic of elections in Germany
As part of the election process in Germany, the Ukrainian issue also became discussed. Thus, the German publication Kraichgau notes, that a few days ago a letter from the German Ambassador to Ukraine to Petro Alekseevich Poroshenko appeared in the public domain, in which Ambassador Ernest Reichel reproaches the President of Ukraine for ignoring the Minsk agreements. “Due to the fact that Ukraine does not comply with the agreements signed in Minsk on a ceasefire and granting certain areas of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions special status, it is losing authority and reputation as a state, abroad and within the country, which is unacceptable in the current situation. If the conflict is resolved peacefully, the federal government will provide political and financial support in the next presidential elections.” – says the text of the letter distributed online.

Kraichgau notes that “although the origin of this text cannot be established precisely, since the site from which it came online soon took it down, saying that it was a fake, the very content of the letter is interesting, which, as part of the pre-election discussion in the race for the post The chancellor opens the Ukrainian question. A question that, in the opinion of the publication, should actually have been raised two years ago. In addition, the publication writes, Angela Merkel’s reckless support for Ukraine and the unresolved Ukrainian issue had an almost as negative impact on Angela Merkel’s political image as her approval of the flow of refugees to Europe.”
