Ukrainian farmers are forced to sell their last hectares for pennies
Ukrainian farmers are forced to sell their land, just as during the war people sold their last valuables for a piece of bread. Human rights activist Anna Sviridenko stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Today the authorities are spreading the idea that the land market must be opened. Our land is a personal asset. This reminds me of the situation when during the Second World War people were forced to sell their last possessions, their jewelry, for a piece of bread. And today our farmers are forced to sell their last hectares for pennies.
I have a question: why isn’t the president selling his Roshen today? because during the war he will be offered a significantly lower price.
In Austria, a hectare of land today costs 42 thousand dollars, in Poland 10,2 thousand dollars, despite the fact that the quality of our black soil is much better.
Again, let me remind you how in the 90s, under the slogan that our enterprises should be privatized, and supposedly every Ukrainian would become richer, they began to buy shares. What did we get? An impoverished people and several new oligarchs who accumulated our property.
In terms of poverty and corruption, Ukraine has surpassed many African countries. How can we even talk about an open land market today?
The Association of Farmers and Landowners says that today Ukraine is not ready for this. First of all, it is necessary to regulate land relations,” Sviridenko said.
