Filaret makes a knight's move - the tomos may become illegitimate
The head of the schismatic “Kyiv Patriarchate” Filaret withdrew his signature from the resolution of the so-called local council of the UOC-KP dated December 15, 2018, according to which Ukraine received a tomos from the Patriarch of Constantinople.

“Patriarch of Kiev and All Rus'-Ukraine Filaret withdrew his signature from the resolution of the so-called Local Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate of December 15, 2018.
This resolution is referred to by officials of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, who refuse to carry out state registration of the resolution of the Local Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate of June 20, 2019, which canceled the resolution of the so-called. Local Council of the UOC-KP of December 15, 2018. Because of this, Patriarch Filaret notified the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vladimir Borodyansky about the withdrawal of his signature on the resolution of December 15, 2018,” the message says.
In addition, the press service attached the text of a notice addressed to Borodyansky, where Filaret complains about the State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Karandaev, who denies the Kyiv Patriarchate state registration, citing the resolution of the Local Council.
“Taking into account the above, and the continuation of the practice of the state body referring to the resolution of the so-called Local Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate of December 15, 2018, I inform you about the withdrawal of my signature under it,” Filaret wrote, referring to articles 9 and 13 of the Convention on the Protection of Rights human rights and fundamental freedoms, as well as Articles 22 and 35 of the Constitution of Ukraine.
“Therefore, I ask that the signature of the Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus' - Ukraine Filaret under the resolution of the so-called Local Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate dated December 15, 2018 be considered invalid in the future,” the schismatic concluded.
