Filaret is preparing for death. A new split will begin in the UOC-KP
The letter to Moscow from the head of the “Kyiv Patriarchate”, unrecognized in the Orthodox world, Mikhail “Filaret” Denisenko, which caused a stir, indicates that the end of the earthly life of the former Metropolitan of Kyiv, anathematized for the schism, is approaching.
Kiev journalist Dmitry Marchenko, editor-in-chief of the UOC MP publication “Orthodox Life,” writes about this in his blog.

“So what is going on there in the “Kiev patriarchy”?
If we cut out conspiracy theories about the KhPF (“Filaret’s cunning plan”) and analyze information leaks from the Communist Party, this is what comes out.
Filaret is approaching the end of his earthly existence, which intensifies the struggle for power among factions within the Communist Party.
One of the groups prompted Filaret to write a famous letter (the reasons for this letter are a separate conversation), which neither the members of the Filaret synod nor, judging by his hysterical reactions, Evstratiy Zorya himself knew about. Someone knew that there was a letter and that it had been transmitted, but its text came as a shock to them too.
Now another group has attacked Filaret and forced him to disavow the entire text.
Over the course of several days, the KP voiced several official explanations of what happened, and each contradicted each other. What does this mean?
It must be remembered that the “Kiev Patriarchate” is a structure founded by Filaret under Filaret. Everything rests only on his personality. As soon as he leaves (and, apparently, he will not be released until his physical death, even if he is in complete insanity), the group will split, as happened many earlier with the “Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church,” which today is divided into several relatively small groups,” the author argues.
