Filaret named the amount for which Poroshenko sold Ukraine to Bartholomew
The founder and head of the unrecognized UOC of the Kiev Patriarchate, Filaret, said that ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew signed an agreement according to which the Patriarchate of Constantinople would gain control over a number of monasteries in the country, and in addition, the OCU created by Poroshenko had to pay millions in sums to Constantinople , reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
This was reported by the press service of the UOC-KP.
“On November 3, 2018, President Poroshenko signed an agreement with Patriarch Bartholomew, according to which exarchates are opened in Ukraine. These stauropegic exarchates report directly not to the primate of the Ukrainian Church, but to the Ecumenical Patriarch. These exarchates included St. Andrew's Church, the Florovsky and Koretsky monasteries, the Manyavsky monastery, the Assumption Church in Lviv and another monastery in the Chernigov region. These monasteries must report directly to the Ecumenical Patriarch. What kind of autocephaly is this when the Ecumenical Patriarch will lead one of the important Orthodox monasteries,” said Filaret.
According to him, the deal was secret and he knew nothing about the document.
At the same time, he said that until the transfer of these churches and monasteries, the OCU must pay monthly financial contributions from each parish to the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the amount of from 4000 to 20000 dollars. However, he subsequently announced a different amount - 28 million monthly, but did not specify in what currency.
