Filaret voiced the blitzkrieg plan: “I was, am and will be a patriarch”
“Kiev Patriarch” Filaret (Denisenko) intends “in the near future” to convene a “unification council of bishops”, in which clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), as well as the non-canonical UOC-KP and UAOC, will take part in order to unite “into one Ukrainian Orthodox Church "
He stated this to reporters today after the announcement of the announcement of the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, which lifted the anathema from him.
“The unification process will be very fast. The council will choose a common primate - the patriarch. We will receive the Tomos of autocephaly from the Ecumenical Patriarch,” Filaret clarified.
Answering the question whether he would agree to become a metropolitan in the “united” church, Filaret replied that “he was, is and will be a patriarch.”
He found it difficult to name the exact date of the council, as well as the number of hierarchs of the UOC-MP who are allegedly ready to unite with the schismatics. Filaret deprived those who do not agree to join him of the right to be called a Ukrainian church, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The creation of a single Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ukraine does not mean that another church cannot exist on our territory. This means the Russian Church. Those Ukrainian dioceses that do not join will not have the right to be called the Ukrainian Church. They will be called the Russian Church,” Filaret said.
