“What you and the Church have done to ensure that Ukraine is a State with a capital “S” and that Ukrainians feel like citizens of a European country is appreciated by the present and will be appreciated by historians,” Yatsenyuk said.
“Patriarch Filaret emphasized that the Church he heads fully supports the efforts of the Government of Ukraine to strengthen the country’s defense capability, develop its economic potential, and free itself from the Russian gas loop. The Patriarch especially highly appreciated the Government’s actions in improving the state border and the implementation of the “Wall” project, as well as consistency in the fight against corruption,” the government’s press service reports.
“The Synod has just decided not to allow those who would take and give bribes to receive communion,” Filaret told Yatsenyuk.
