Filaret restores through the court the charter of the UOC-KP, canceled by the Ministry of Culture
The court is asked to cancel the illegal order of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine regarding the termination of the registration of the charter of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The plaintiff was the UOC-KP, reports the press service of the District Administrative Court of Kyiv, which received the claim.
“The District Administrative Court of the city of Kiev received a claim against the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine to cancel the order, in the part where it is stated that the orders of the Ministry on registration in the new edition of the Charter of the religious organization “Kyiv Patriarchate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church”, as well as on the new edition of the Charter, have become invalid on the management of the UOC-KP. The plaintiff is the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate,” the statement says.
At the same time, along with the statement of claim, a motion was filed to secure the claim, where the plaintiff asks to immediately suspend the action of the contested order in terms of termination of the orders of the Ministry on the statutes of the UOC-KP.
“The court is now deciding the issue of opening proceedings and the existence of legal grounds for taking measures to secure the claim,” the press service reported.
Let us recall that earlier Patriarch Filaret stated that the UOC-KP still exists and convened its own Council, at which it broke with the OCU and abandoned the tomos from Constantinople.
The Kiev Patriarchate, restored by Filaret, created its own governing body, a synod, of five bishops, whom the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, controlled by Constantinople, had excommunicated from the priesthood the day before.
