The Filaret sect demanded repentance from the Poles
Ukrainian schismatics from the “Kyiv Patriarchate,” unrecognized in the Orthodox world, are asking the Polish Sejm to cancel the decision to recognize the Volyn massacre as genocide of the Polish people, and instead ask for forgiveness from the Ukrainians.

This is stated in the appeal of the so-called Volyn Council of Churches, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Filaret members, a “third party” has always taken advantage of the splits in relations between Poles and Ukrainians, so the decision of the Sejm could harm both Ukraine and Poland.
“Our great concern is that recently evil forces have been trying to use all the crimes and misdeeds that we have committed against each other in order to continue to sow hatred and discord between our peoples. From the lessons of history we know that a third party always takes advantage of our discord, to the detriment of both Ukrainians and Poles. This should not happen again... We strongly ask the Sejm of the Republic of Poland to reconsider the latest decisions on the Volyn tragedy in the spirit of “we forgive and ask for forgiveness”, without accusations and labeling,” the appeal says.
