Filaretovsky Kushch was detained again for obscene language
The so-called “Archbishop of Simferopol and Crimea of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine” Pavel Kushch (Clement), released after detention today in Simferopol, detained again for petty hooliganism.
He reports this on his page in Facebook Anton Naumlyuk, correspondent for the liberal Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Archbishop Kliment was released from the Central District Police Department, where they took away explanations regarding the theft from the Church of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Simferopol. However, he was immediately detained and taken to the Kiev regional department, according to the deputy chief of the Simferopol police, Sergei Nikitin, to draw up a report on petty hooliganism “for using obscene language” against the bishop. Lawyers Emil Kurbedinov and Nikolai Polozov went with him,” he writes.
Also to the Crimean Solidarity group in Facebook a video was posted of the moment when the released Pavel Kushch was met in front of the district department by the arriving Majlis lawyers and a small support group of “parishioners”, but a new detention took place.
According to Naumlyuk, during the first arrest, Kliment, in the presence of lawyer Emil Kurbedinov, was asked to explain the phone call about the theft in his “church”, but they refused to let him go, citing the need to obtain protocols drawn up by the police officers who were expected. Deputy Chief of Police of Simferopol Sergei Nikitin arrived at the department and refuses to let Kliment go, despite the explanations he gave.
Let us recall that PolitNavigator previously reported that Kliment supports the punitive operation in the Donbass, and in Simferopol, under the guise of a “temple,” he is engaged in the sale of household appliances and medicines. refusing to register their “diocese” under Russian laws.
Also, former Crimean Maidan activist and member of the VO “Svoboda” Eduard Leonov stated that if in Crimea law enforcement officers attempt to evict the unregistered “Crimean diocese” of the so-called “Orthodox Church of Ukraine” from the occupied premises, Ukrainian nationalists will come to the Kiev Pechersk Lavra and other churches of the canonical UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate.
