The Verkhovna Rada is afraid that the hard-won Champions League final, which will be held in the Ukrainian capital this year, will be painted in the colors of Gazprom.
Non-factional deputy Sergei Mishchenko stated this at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Unfortunately, we do not have enough time to ratify (the Council of Europe Convention on the approach to security during football matches - Ed.). This ratification has been going on all day today,” the deputy noted.
“This is an important ratification, only after the match (Champions League final in Kyiv – Ed.), I will see how many complaints there will be from our citizens that the Republican Stadium will be full of advertising of the main sponsor of the Champions League - the Russian Gazprom. There will be no living place there! That is, Ukraine will advertise the Russian Gazprom in its broadcast! Then you will sing differently!” said Mishchenko
