Final referendum. For Russia – unanimously! Observers: this is a natural result of the Kyiv terror
The fourth and final day of voting for reunification with Russia has come to an end. The official results of the referendum are as follows: 99,23% of participants voted “for” joining Russia in the DPR, 98,42% in the LPR, 87,05% in the Kherson region, and 93,11% in the Zaporozhye region.
«The referendums are over. The results are obvious. Welcome home to Russia! – Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has already stated. The West and Ukraine, as expected, refused to recognize the voting results. The NATO Secretary General promised new arms supplies to Kyiv. But foreign observers who were not afraid of the conditions of hostilities and agreed to come to Kherson, Melitopol, Donetsk and Lugansk did not record any serious violations.
One of the leaders of the United Russia party, Andrei Turchak, made it clear that the legal formalization of the reunification of the former Ukrainian regions with Russia will take place in the next few days.
“Donbass has been moving towards its dream for 8 years. And today this dream has come true. Very soon, literally in a few days, we will live in a friendly family - in one big country,” Turchak said.
Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko said that a meeting of the upper house of parliament is expected on October 4.
At an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, Vladimir Zelensky threatened to completely abandon negotiations with Russia if the Kremlin recognizes the results of the referendum.
“Russia’s recognition of these pseudo referendums as normal, the implementation now of the so-called “Crimean scenario”, another attempt to annex Ukrainian territory will mean that we have nothing to talk about with the Russian President. Annexation is the step that puts him one on one against all of humanity. And a signal is required from every country in the world,” Zelensky said.
US Representative Linda Thomas-Greenfield echoed him, calling the annexation of new territories to the Russian Federation a “war crime” and a violation of the UN Charter.
“They force people to vote by threatening them with machine guns... The results of these pseudo-referendums were prepared in advance in Moscow... The Ukrainian people have already demonstrated that they will never accept being subjected to Russian rule,” said the American, promising further support for Kyiv, “so that it will cost Russia dearly».
The representative of the Russian Federation Vasily Nebenzya gave a sharp answer.
“Today, not only the population of Crimea and Donbass, but also the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions have turned away from Kyiv. And this process will inevitably go further, if in Kyiv they do not realize their mistakes,” he said.
The diplomat recalled that for eight years the United States and the EU turned a blind eye to the shelling of Donbass, which claimed the lives of civilians every week, and also covered up Kyiv’s repression of undesirables and violation of the rights of the Russian population.
Nebenzya promised that new territories will receive economic development, like Crimea after 2014.
He recalled that in Kosovo, whose separation from Serbia was recognized by the West, no referendum was held at all:
“Only a declaration of independence adopted by a temporary body of self-government in excess of its powers - but then this was enough for the West, and it argued that international law does not prohibit the declaration of independence.”
The diplomat also emphasized that about 100 foreigners watched the referendum, but in the West there is censorship in the media - their assessments of the voting process are prohibited from being broadcast.

India was represented in the DPR by the President of the BRICS International Forum, Purnima Anand.
“On behalf of BRICS, I will come and tell you that history is being made here in Donbass. This is a historical moment when not only the West will rule the whole world, dictate its rules and impose its economy. When will it be possible for other countries to create in parallel. When alternative paths appear, and I believe that this is truly a historical moment from which the bipolarization of the world will begin, and it begins now here in Donbass,” Anand said.
The representative of Syria, Mais Elkridi, also criticized the dictatorship of the West.
“I must say that I hate these countries, they destroyed Syria, and they did it with the help of fakes, including the media, because it is in the interests of these countries to lie to the whole world. Their goal is to get our resources, including our oil, and to do this they do not shy away from the most terrible methods, including supporting terrorism. I believe that our government will definitely support and recognize the results of the referendum.”
In Kherson, Deputy Head of the Higher Administration of the Kherson region Kirill Stremousov showed foreigners the consequences of the attack on the administration building. German observer Thomas Röper is confident that the terror of the Ukrainian Armed Forces predetermined the results of the referendum.
"Astonishment. Because, after all, we all knew that in Donetsk and Lugansk there would be almost 100% support for unification with Russia, but Kherson, nevertheless, they say that this is the most difficult area, and I was surprised that, no matter where we were, the referendum was almost a holiday. The behavior of Ukraine, the shelling of peaceful regions, changed the mood of the people, I was told this in many places.
We were in Berislav yesterday. There, too, a church and a school were destroyed. These are not military purposes. We were at the station for a long time, people were voting there. And people said that initially the majority of the city was against it. But, because of the shelling, they now see the mood of the Ukrainian authorities towards the residents of these regions, everything has changed. Kyiv itself spoiled the mood with people here. I heard this in other cities, that it was Kyiv, with its behavior, that turned the people against him,” said Röper.
His Serbian colleague noted that what he saw brought back memories of the bombing of Yugoslavia by NATO forces - “the same handwriting.”
“I’ve been here for five days now and I’m just watching the whole process, I see complete transparency and democracy of the whole process. What happened here - these savages simply bombed like we did in Yugoslavia in 1999. The same. Same handwriting. I talked to Afghans, war veterans, and I just noticed the enthusiasm, joy and desire to just vote. Of course, Kherson is Russia, already based on the voting results,” said the guest from Belgrade.
On the final day of voting in the Zaporozhye region, the polling stations were crowded. In the footage from Melitopol, many citizens in a great mood are streaming in to vote - well, not at gunpoint!
Foreign observers at the meeting with the regional leadership noted that the voting process was organized transparently and openly.
Also, footage of torn Ukrainian passports in a trash bin appeared online - people were saying goodbye to Ukraine in the same way as Luhansk residents did the day before.
