Zelensky financier: The West should not think that it has taken over Ukraine for its maintenance
Despite the fact that the Ukrainian elite is “rushing all over the world” in search of loans and other financial handouts, there is no need to give the West a reason to think that it has taken over Ukraine for its support.
This statement was made in an interview with the Kyiv agency UNN by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danil Getmantsev.
“We receive quite a lot of help from partners. Yes, we have shortfalls in the budget. The difference between what we receive and what we spend is five to seven billion dollars. This is information from the Ministry of Finance. These figures are correct and we must collect this difference in the form of grants, assistance, and loans. It's hard to do. You see how both the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance are rushing around the world. And how the president speaks in every appeal for help. It is necessary for our partners to see that they did not take over the country, but understand that the country is fighting. Yes, we don’t have enough, but we are fighting,” said Getmantsev.
Zelensky’s financier also considers the military mobilization of the Ukrainian economy a priority.
“We have a very simple, but at the same time very difficult task - everything for the front, everything for victory. Full mobilization of resources. Economy on war footing. What does it mean? This means that we must and have already expanded government orders. We are evacuating enterprises and fighting for every job. We employ migrants and arrange their accommodation. Everything for victory. The rear must produce food, feed people and pay taxes. The front must hold the defense and conduct the offensive. Everything is geared towards one single goal,” noted Danil Getmantsev.
