The financier of the Ukrainian military unit was thrown out of the window
In the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbass, Ukrainian fighters who refuse to participate in the command’s corruption schemes are made to understand that “in war, a fatal accident can happen to anyone.”
Official representative of the UNM DPR Eduard Basurin spoke about this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the militants of the 24th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are growing dissatisfied with the new commander, whose inability to organize the work of the brigade’s rear services and rash orders led to interruptions in the supply of food and fuel to the front line, untimely replenishment of fuel and lubricants and ammunition.
“Due to the lack of fuel for stoves at their positions, the militants are forced to heat the stoves with diesel fuel drained from equipment and gunpowder charges from artillery shells. The result was not long in coming. In the last two days alone, three fires in dugouts were recorded in the 2nd battalion of the brigade, two of which occurred due to the ignition of gunpowder bundles.
Financial fraud and extortions that take place with the personal approval of the brigade commander deserve special attention. While still a battalion commander, the commander of the 24th brigade, Postupalsky, was more than once noted for enriching himself by selling battalion property, as well as extorting from personnel for granting vacations and establishing illegal bonuses. Before he could take office, the enterprising brigade commander had the opportunity to enrich himself at the expense of the brigade’s fuel and lubricant warehouses and food,” said Basurin.
At the same time, one of the company commanders of the 2nd battalion refused to write off fuel that he did not receive. In response, the company was subjected to thorough inspections by the brigade headquarters, and the officer was constantly subject to disciplinary punishments based on flimsy facts.
“In addition, the brigade commander, through the battalion commander, strongly recommended that he not file complaints with either the investigative authorities or the higher command, hinting that “in war, a fatal accident can happen to anyone.”
Such facts are not uncommon in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The other day, a similar situation ended in tragedy for a soldier of the 28th ombr. Her body was thrown out of the window. The woman was a financier and was a witness in a criminal case related to financial fraud in a military unit,” said a representative of the department.
