Ukrainians sincerely believe that they decide their own destiny, not at all embarrassed by their material dependence on Western countries.
Ukrainian sociologist Evgeniy Kopatko stated this on the PolitWera YouTube channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a certain internal paradox that many people themselves believe that they decide their fate, but they are dependent on economic assistance. I recently encountered this while on one of my business trips in the West. When experts or the OSCE say that these are good things, they received loans, a tranche. I say, well, imagine, in your successful countries it is on the number one agenda that your country has received a tranche, a loan, some other assistance, and this is the subject of national discussion. Factories, enterprises, roads that have not been built do not mean that people have experienced some positive change in terms of what is happening in the country,” said Kopatko.
