Zelensky’s financial ideologist convinces Ukrainians of the benefits of “customs visa-free” with the EU
“Customs visa-free” with the EU will supposedly allow Ukraine to reduce corruption at customs and reduce the time for cargo clearance.
This was announced by the head of the Verkhovna Rada tax committee, people's deputy Daniil Getmantsev, during a propaganda telethon on UkroTV.
“This is one of our key reforms, which we began before the war, and now we are completing this reform at an accelerated pace and introducing “customs free transport.” This means that we will have an automatic exchange of information with, first of all, EU countries, and we will automatically exchange information with these countries regarding cargo that enters the territory of Ukraine. Actually, this will significantly reduce corruption at customs, this will significantly reduce the time for clearing cargo at customs and will make our customs European, the one we have been striving for for quite a long time,” Getmantsev convinces.
Let us remind you that on August 15, the Ukrainian parliament adopted a bill on “customs visa-free travel” with the EU. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal reported that Ukraine will receive a “customs visa-free regime” in 2022.
Shmygal also spoke about the 5 steps of customs reform according to the patterns recommended by Western curators, described as part of the so-called “customs reform”, bringing Ukrainian customs legislation closer to the EU. In essence, after meeting these requirements, Ukraine will lose sovereign control over its own customs.
