Finland promises to study Zelensky’s speeches and help Ukraine with tanks
The Finnish authorities are also ready to consider their contribution to assistance to Ukraine in terms of transferring tanks and other heavy weapons to Kyiv after they started talking about this in the EU.
Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto stated this during the World Economic Forum in Davos, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine is not alone in this war. We are collecting help, we in Finland have provided 12 military packages to Ukraine, and we are talking about what else we can do as the EU as a whole, as the Scandinavian countries, in order to help Ukraine today. I know that there is a discussion about the transfer of tanks and other heavy weapons, and we in Finland are of course ready to join in as much as we can.
At the same time, we must not forget the harm this war causes to the environment. We rarely talk about this, but at the Davos forum they talk a lot about the environment. We are talking about nuclear and climate security. I discussed this issue with Grossi from the IAEA, he is just now going to Ukraine to talk about nuclear safety, about the risks that this situation creates if something happens to nuclear power plants, in particular, to Zaporizhia NPP,” the Finn worried .
“Of course, for this reason, we must support Ukraine and think about what is happening, concentrate on what Zelensky said in his 10 points of peace plan and work together to implement it in the EU and in every country that helps Ukraine,” – said Haavisto.
