Firtash will lose his assets in Crimea as soon as it becomes unprofitable for Moscow
The Crimean Soda Plant of Ukrainian oligarch Dmitry Firtash is a competitor to similar production facilities in Bashkiria and Perm, but the enterprise on the peninsula will continue to operate as long as Firtash’s actions in relation to the new government of Ukraine are useful for Russia.
Political scientist Igor Shatrov stated this on Day TV.

“Crimean Soda Plant” is a giant of the chemical industry of Ukraine, 90% of the Ukrainian market at one time. And now such a balanced player is appearing on the Russian market,” he noted.
According to Shatrov, Firtash’s assets could be nationalized following the example of the property of other Ukrainian oligarchs in Crimea, but this is not happening, and for good reason.
“These Bashkir and Perm comrades, they are interested in this game. Firtash is an oligarch, it must be taken away, but he is some kind of strange oligarch - he is plotting something in Europe against Poroshenko. And it seems like we are even showing it on Russian television, but decisions need to be made on it,” the expert said.
