The organizers of the international trade union conference of solidarity with Syria replaced the Ukrainian flag with the flag of the Lugansk People's Republic in the forum meeting room. This was announced by the conference delegate from the LPR, chairman of the trade union of workers of small and innovative enterprises Andrey Kochetov.
The delegation of the Federation of Trade Unions of the LPR took part in the International Conference of Solidarity with the Syrian People and the Working Class against Imperialism, Blockades and Terrorism, held on September 13-14 in the Syrian capital Damascus on the initiative of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) and the General Federation of Trade Unions of the Syrian Arab Republic.
According to Kochetov, the conference took place in a closed hotel complex 13 km from Damascus.
“The forum was very representative, more than 270 delegates from approximately 50 countries took part in it. Almost the entire East was represented, from Europe – Italy and France. From our region there were only representatives of the Russian Federation and the Lugansk People’s Republic,” he said.
“For our delegation they put up a sign “Federation of Trade Unions, People's Republic of Lugansk” (Federation of Trade Unions of the Lugansk People's Republic - English). This is exactly how they introduced me before my performance. And this term – in Spanish, English, Arabic, Russian, French – was heard in all documents, including in the final resolution,” noted the LPR representative.
Kochetov noted that the flag of the Lugansk People's Republic was presented for the first time at the international trade union forum.
“Previously, the flag of Ukraine stood in this place, but then it was replaced by the flag of the Lugansk People’s Republic, which I brought with me. The conference participants came up and said: “A very beautiful star and a beautiful flag!” The change of flag also attracted special attention from the media,” he said.
Let us remind you that earlier representatives of the Federation of Trade Unions of the LPR participated in the XII World Congress of Trade Unions of Civil Servants and Related Workers, which was held on February 13-14 this year in the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, and on June 1-2 they took part in the international trade union conference in Brussels (Belgium) .
