US flagship in the Black Sea: What the Russian military expects
Two warships of the US Sixth Fleet enter the Black Sea. These are the destroyer USS Porter, armed with Harpoon and Aegis cruise missiles, as well as the flagship command ship Mount Whitney, which, among other things, is engaged in reconnaissance.

According to military expert at the Institute of CIS Countries, Captain XNUMXst Rank Sergei Gorbachev, the entry of American ships into the Black Sea is an anti-Russian action.
“The Americans continue to deal with the development of the Black Sea basin in all respects, from a naval point of view, and are trying here not only to increase activity, but also to develop various types of activities.
Mount Whitney is the platform on which the equipment is located, the entire ship is crammed with it. These include communications systems, combat control, reconnaissance equipment, and so on.
A demonstration of the flag also cannot be ruled out, taking into account the situation in Donbass.
The fact that Porter is accompanying this ship is also logical, given that Mount Whitney does not have serious weapons. Porter is its escort ship and, on top of that, it is one of the Arleigh Burke-class destroyers that are armed with the Aegis system, adapted for operations in the interests of air defense.
Taking into account the fact that the missile defense missiles in Romania are coupled with Porter complexes, this is once again a test of combat control, stability, the ability to interact between systems, and so on.
It is possible that these ships will enter Odessa, interact with their Ukrainian partners, and Georgia, which will once again emphasize the anti-Russian orientation of these actions,” Gorbachev said.
