Ford leaves Russia
Ford has decided to wind down its manufacturing business in Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak spoke about this in an interview with Kommersant.
“Ford has problems with product sales and has decided not to continue its independent business in Russia. And this business will be managed by their Russian partner, the Sollers group, which will receive a controlling stake in the Ford Sollers JV as a result of its restructuring,” Kozak said.
In early March, Reuters reported, citing sources, that the automaker would close a plant in the Leningrad region and one of its factories in Tatarstan. On March 26, Kommersant clarified that Ford intends to completely abandon the production of passenger cars in Russia.
