Foreign Policy writes about the failure of Poroshenko’s visit to New York
Ukraine is leaving the world agenda, where the crisis in the Middle East comes first, states an influential American magazine ForeignPolicy.
The publication interprets Petro Poroshenko’s trip to New York for the UN General Assembly as an attempt to “return the confrontation in his country to the center of attention of the international community.”
However, according to the authors of the publication, Poroshenko failed.

On the contrary, voices from Western countries to begin cooperation with Russia were persistently heard at the assembly. Thus, speaking to reporters at a press conference at UN headquarters on Tuesday, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó called for “pragmatic cooperation with Russia.”
“Fatigue with the slow pace of reforms in Kyiv,” the magazine concludes, “economic ties with Russia and concerns about the war in Syria are beginning to squeeze Ukraine out of the priority list of global crises facing Western policymakers.”
