Force majeure with batons will study the Russian language in Lvov
Lviv District Administrative Court canceled moratorium for the public use of Russian-language cultural products in the Lviv region.
This was reported by the executive committee of the public movement “Ukrainian Choice,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On January 16, 2018, the Lviv District Administrative Court fully satisfied the claim of the public movement “Ukrainian Choice - The Right of the People” and declared the decision of the Lviv Regional Council of the VII convocation of September 18, 2018 No. 745 “On the moratorium on the public use of Russian-language cultural product” illegal and invalid on the territory of the Lviv region,” the message says.
It is noted that during the trial, facts were presented that showed that the Lviv Regional Council violated Article 10 of the Constitution of Ukraine, which guarantees “the free development, use and protection of Russian and other languages of national minorities of Ukraine,” as well as a number of norms of Ukrainian legislation.
In addition, the decision taken in Lvov came into conflict with the Council of Europe Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities and the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages. Moreover, both of these documents were ratified by the Verkhovna Rada.
In turn, Kiev journalist Vladimir Skachko believes that it is too early to rejoice at the cancellation of the odious decision of the Lviv regional council.
“The coolest lawyers and the coolest lawyers who know the law, who know how to get between the drops are Krasnov’s people and Medvedchuk’s people. It’s just that Poroshenko is such a legal idiot that they cannot resist in the field of law,” Skachko said on the Russia-1 TV channel.
He believes that the court's decision will last until Kyiv needs a new wave of pseudo-patriotism.
“But there will be force, there will be a Supreme Court, people will come either with force majeure suitcases or with batons, and everything will be decided if necessary. If you need to incite patriotism and blame Russia for everything bad,” the journalist added.
Let us recall that, following Lvov, the “Russian-language cultural product” was banned by local authorities for Volyn and Zhytomyr region.
