The Communist Party faction threatened to leave the hall during Zhirinovsky’s speeches
The speech of the leader of the LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky ended today in a stormy skirmish in the hall of the State Duma of the Russian Federation between him and deputies from the Communist Party faction. Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin had difficulty calming his colleagues down.
In his speech, Zhirinovsky traditionally accused the communists of everything at once, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“All of socialism was queues - from the maternity hospital to the cemetery. They couldn't produce anything except tanks. There were illiterate people in power. Stalin had 4th grade, Andropov had no education at all. You lost the 20th century, and with you the whole country. Now the Olympics are taking revenge on you for the 17th year,” Zhirinovsky denounced.
At the end of the speeches of the faction representatives, Nikolai Kolomeytsev, a deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, decided to respond to the insults.
“I apologize for being heated and speaking without a microphone. But if there are direct insults, you are obliged to correct the person. There are no criminals here, all State Duma deputies are here. If there is no apology from this podium, I promise you, we will defiantly get up and leave during Zhirinovsky’s speeches, so that this will not be a surprise for you,” Kolomeytsev said.
The Communist Party faction also intends to appeal to the parliamentary ethics commission. Volodin again tried to smooth out the conflict.
“You can’t get personal. In this case, we always stop the speaker. Everything else is political culture. You react emotionally correctly. I asked for a transcript of the speech, I will try to come back to this again before the end of the meeting, if there is any personal touch,” Volodin said.
