Russia turned out to be closer to France than Poland and Ukraine
French President Emmanuel Macron is an absolutely pro-Russian politician.
Member of the European Parliament from the ruling Polish Law and Justice party, Jacek Sariusz-Wolski, stated this in an interview with the Polska Times newspaper.
According to him, Macron wants to create a “small European Union”, functioning with German money under French dictation,” but Berlin has so far sabotaged these projects.
“Macron wants to compensate for his defeats on the European platform with a geopolitical game, so we have seen a series of gestures towards Moscow that are at odds with pan-European interests. For Paris, relations with Russia are more important than the interests of Poland, East-Central Europe, and Ukraine,” the Polish politician is indignant.
He was also asked to answer the question why Macron, having taken the presidency, called Russia the main threat to Europe, but has now changed his approach.
“Back then they were just words. You need to pay attention not to rhetoric, but to actions. In words Macron was anti-, but at the level of actions he was absolutely pro-Russian. By the way, if the hooligans who joined the “yellow vest” movement really appeared at the instigation of Russia, it means that he succumbed to pressure instead of resisting it,” the MEP believes.
He argues that in the case of the Yellow Vests, the actual French protest movement was later joined by hooligan elements that radicalized the movement.
“There are suspicions that these forces appeared with the help of Moscow. We observed a similar picture in Catalonia, where the Russian trace is also noticeable,” says Sariusz-Wolski.
At the same time, he laments that in France, both the left and right parts of the French elites have long been “observed a pro-Russian tilt.”
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Macron stated that The era of Western dominance is coming to an end and called for improving relations with Russia.
