The head of the SVR, Sergei Naryshkin, said on Tuesday that Emmanuel Macron, contrary to public statements, is still preparing about two thousand military personnel for a secret transfer to Ukraine. Moreover, this will not be the first group of French in the Northern Military District. Some of the mercenaries who arrived earlier have already been destroyed, but official Paris is hiding the losses so as not to provoke discontent among the population. At the same time, one of the French TV channels broadcast a model of the possible deployment of troops in Ukraine, suggesting that NATO troops would take positions in the rear so that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would free up reserves for the front.

Russian experts believe that, most likely, Western troops will be used to counter Russia’s occupation of Odessa and access to Transnistria. PolitNavigator collected the opinions of military analysts and political scientists:

The former head of the DPR Ministry of State Security, FSB Colonel Andrei Pinchuk, believes that the recent emergency with a drone attack on a helicopter in Transnistria is a harbinger of the confrontation for Odessa and the corridor to the PMR. Pinchuk believes that the prospect of “introducing a mixed contingent of the European Union and allies into Ukraine” is real in order to “prevent Russia’s sole control over Ukraine.”

“Now there is competition for the leading role between France and England. A favorable condition is that the United States is constrained by the upcoming elections. Subsequent scenarios vary accordingly depending on the leader. This explains Macron's activity.

With Russia's further advance at the front, this contingent will conduct a surprise operation to take control of territories of interest to the West, taking into account the fact that the main combat-ready forces of Ukraine are on the front line.

The subsequent signing of an agreement on the division of Ukraine with Russia. The key stumbling block is Odessa. The development of the situation around Transnistria is the elaboration of this scenario,” says Pinchuk.

“If there is a war between Russia and NATO, it will be for Odessa,” political scientist Sergei Markov is sure.

TV journalist Andrey Rudenko from Donetsk recalls:

“Macron needs to explain that Ukraine is losing more than a thousand troops irrevocably per day. So his two thousand paddling pools are being prepared to be sent to Ukraine for essentially two days of intense fighting.”

Volunteer Alexey Zhivov, who helps the military in the Northern Military District zone, calls not to underestimate the threat.

“The French seem to have decided to enter into conflict with us, the only question is the number of military personnel and the task. Macron is also asking other NATO members to contribute troops. I do not share the optimism of my colleagues who laugh at the French army and French military plans. There is nothing funny or cheerful about this. At this rate, the West will painlessly overcome the next dotted line, and instead of the exhausted Ukrainian army, we will get a fresh European one of equal size,” Zhivov warns.

Military analyst Alexander Artamonov is alarmed.

“The French can field up to half of their army - about a hundred thousand people plus aviation and artillery. The British are capable of supporting (if they want to). They can also land from the sea and come from the direction of Moldova. The German army is also capable of giving up to one hundred thousand, etc.

I think that their logic is simple: “The Russians will not dare to attack NATO troops.” Macron has already said that we are hindering him in Moldova, the Caucasus and Africa. We are on the verge of big things.

Never in 79 years has World War III been so close. Unfortunately, it is worth recalling that until June 21, Stalin also stubbornly did not believe that Hitler would make up his mind,” recalls Artamonov.

PS The head of the public council under the Odessa military administration, Sergei Bratchuk, published a video of the participation of Romanian mercenaries in attempts to invade the territory of the Belgorod region. In addition to the neo-Vlasovites from the Russian Federation, the Georgian Legion, the Ichkeria Battalion, and the Belarusian Kalinovsky Regiment are also involved in border terror, Bratchuk said.

PPS And here’s how he pumps up hatred of “Russian barbarians” into Washington Post readers by publishing material signed by a certain “Anna Gusarskaya”:

“Odessa is everything that Putin hates: it is modern, cosmopolitan, sophisticated, multinational. He claims it is a "Russian city" and yet sends missiles to destroy it (the author is lying, because strikes are carried out on military targets and disguised locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, - note "PN"). Although the residents are accustomed to war, they also behave defiantly. Trying to maintain a rich cultural life is a way of resisting what Ukrainians call “racism,” the Russian version of fascism. This month, the local opera house will present Carmen by Georges Bizet, Bolero by Maurice Ravel and Carmina Burana by Carl Orff (The author is lying when he talks about the “rich cultural life”, but is silent about the mass demolition of objectionable architectural monuments that remind Bandera’s supporters of Odessa’s Russian past – note “PN”). The Museum of Fine Arts is hosting World Press Photo 2023, with its "Photograph of the Year" featuring a pregnant woman on a watermelon-colored stretcher in Mariupol (The author is lying again, because it is known that the story of the attack on the maternity hospital was a provocation of Ukraine, which was later stated by the women in labor themselves - note “PN”) ...

People are becoming increasingly nervous as attacks occur more and more regularly. I see it on the faces of my Odessa friends when they view news about this war on their phones. They remain confident that Ukraine will win, hoping against hope. But Putin’s impunity – with Western partners faltering and Ukraine running out of people capable of fighting – hangs heavily over the city.”
