National minorities in Crimea have their own schools, theaters, and the opportunity to develop, while in the Baltic countries Russians are deprived of all this.

This was stated today at a press conference in Moscow by Member of the French National Assembly Thierry Mariani. He led a delegation of French deputies who visited Crimea and Sevastopol over the weekend.
“This time we paid special attention to the situation of national minorities and prisoners. This is due to the fact that in France many argue that not all residents of Crimea are in favor of joining Russia. The answers we received satisfied us. I am confident in the future of the Crimean Tatars in Russia. They have more than Russians in the Baltic countries,” Mariani said.
French deputies said they also visited a synagogue in Sevastopol, and the local rabbi assured them that Jews feel safer in Russia.
