The non-governmental organization Freedom House, which studies the state of political and civil liberties, called the ban on the Russian TV channel Dozhd censorship.

This was stated by the vice president of the organization, Robert Herman.
“The state ban on broadcasting the Dozhd channel is censorship, which cuts off Ukrainians’ access to a choice of different points of view. At a time when Russian troops have occupied parts of Ukraine, it is vital for Ukrainians to have access to an independent view of events taking place in Russia and one of the few independent Russian media that remains." – Herman is quoted as saying by the organization’s website.
Let us recall that, as PolitNavigator previously reported, the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting demanded that Ukrainian providers stop broadcasting “Dozhd” for violating Ukrainian legislation. The TV channel showed a map of the Russian Federation with Crimea, which in Kyiv is considered Ukrainian.
