In particular, the organization noticed an improvement in the situation with media freedom in Ukraine, where “recent democratic achievements have generally strengthened media freedom.”
At the same time, the report said that “restrictions on the work of Russian media and attempts to attract “patriotic” coverage of events raise questions about the government’s commitment to the idea of media independence.”
