“We have broken through the front, but have not yet destroyed it” - Kazakov about the capture of Soledar
Despite the fact that the liberation of Soledar will not cause the collapse of the Ukrainian front, a fundamentally important line of internal communications of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been destroyed, which will seriously worsen the conditions for the garrisons of the enemy fortified areas in Artyomovsk and Seversk.
Political strategist Alexander Kazakov, adviser to the first head of the DPR, stated this on his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for the domino principle, no, after the capture of Soledar the front will not collapse. It is in Donbass that nothing has changed in this sense since February last year. There is the most powerful group of the Kyiv regime, and there are enough forces and resources there, and in Artyomovsk (Bakhmut), in particular, and in Seversk, they sometimes say that Chasov Yar is adjacent to this line.
Having taken Soledar, they broke through this single fortified line of defense. And its meaning is that in addition to the fact that these are several fortified areas - Seversk-Soledar-Artyomovsk, there are internal communications between them. For any defending side, internal communications, their quality, and, accordingly, the ability to transfer units and equipment from one sector of the front to another, is a most valuable resource,” Kazakov said.
“Now, having taken Soledar, we have broken this line of communication - this is fundamentally important. And in this sense, the garrisons of the fortified areas in Artyomovsk and Seversk are suspended. Another value of Soledar is that it is located on a hill. And in this sense, the offensive, for example, from the south of Soledar to Seversk is proceeding as usual. We have gained control of several fundamentally important transport arteries.
In this sense, we have broken through the front, that’s for sure. They created very big problems for the enemy. But the domino principle will not work here,” the expert explained.
