“The front is expanding. Russia has formed a strike fist” – Bessmertny
Ukraine needs to prepare for the worst - Russia has formed two thousand kilometers of front line along the Ukrainian border from south to north.
A Ukrainian diplomat, ex-representative of Ukraine at the negotiations in Minsk and former presidential candidate Roman Bessmertny stated this on TV channel 24, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Bessmertny, a powerful strike group of Russian troops has been formed on the borders with Ukraine.
“The Zapad exercises were held annually, usually exclusively on the territory of Belarus with the maximum involvement of troops from the Leningrad Military District. Only the army command of the western direction was in one way or another involved in participating in these exercises. Please note what we are talking about now - participants from the southern, southwestern, western direction and even the Northern Fleet of the Russian Federation are taking part in “West 2021”.
That is, in fact, we are talking about training, the legend of which is striking in a western direction. It is legendary not for defensive battles, defensive, but for attacking ones. Moreover, with an explicit indication of the address. Because we are talking about training armored units to overcome wooded, swampy terrain, the use of the Air Force, air assault brigades, and so on. As you understand, these are not troops that are used during defense, but these are offensive troops...
Understanding that we are dealing with an absolutely unpredictable person who can make a decision in any situation and give the command to attack, first of all, the Ukrainian side needs to prepare at any moment for the fact that the likelihood of an expansion of hostilities beyond the front lines in the Donbass is very big.
And you need to understand that this front includes not only the eastern direction, but also the northern one, because today, in addition, the eastern part of Ukraine is expanding with Russian units of an offensive nature. The same thing is happening on the territory of Belarus. Under the supposed banner of the Zapad-2021 exercises, additional armored units, aviation, enemy manpower, and so on are arriving there. Because, as you understand, this front has already expanded to almost two thousand kilometers,” said Bessmertny.
